Mr. Le Hoai Quoc, Head of Manager of Ho Chi Minh Hi-Tech Park, signed a cooperation with Japan
In the afternoon of September 15, Ho Chi Minh Hi-Tech Park held a signing ceremony of a memorandum of cooperation with Consortium for Japan Minima workshop Technology Research and Development (Minimal Fab) in the presence of Vice Chairman of People’s Committee Tat Thanh Cang.
With the signing of this cooperation, Japanese partners will receive training two researchers of Center for Research and Development, Ho Chi Minh High Tech Park within 1-2 years in Japan. Accordingly, Vietnam will be the first country to transfer Minimal Fab technology and produce chips due to available trained human resources.
To achieve this, it requires a huge investment of funds. According to estimations, a microchip factory currently invested no less than 4-5 billion USD. This is the amount that no any country can afford. Therefore, Minimal Fab is an "answer" to the new nations began entering IC semiconductor industry as Vietnam.
This event is also more closely tied to cooperative relationship between two countries Vietnam - Japan, which is very good in the recent years. At the same time, Mr. Cang also demanded Ho Chi Minh Hi-Tech Park quickly send staffs to Japan for training to put minimal workshops into operation in the shortest time. |
