In the first 6 months of 2019, Vietnam suffered more than 3,000 cyber attacks
The Ministry of Information and Communications said that in the first 6 months of 2019, there were 3,159 cyber attacks on information systems in Vietnam.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Information and Communications, the first 6 months of 2019 recorded 3,159 cyber attacks on information systems in Vietnam, reduced 2,684 (equivalent to 45.90%) compared to the same period in 2018. In which, there were 968 interface change attacks (Deface), 635 malicious code attack (Malware), 1,556 phishing attacks (Phishing).

Statistics also show that the number of attacks dropped, mainly in the form of Phishing attacks. Particularly with this form, the strongest decrease in January was 76.86%, the lowest in May was 47.37% compared to the same period in 2018. "This index shows the situation of ensuring safety and network security. In Vietnam, there have been changes, particularly, campaigns to handle malicious code in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City recently have shown certain effectiveness ”, the Ministry of Information and Communications said.

Along with that, in the first half of 2019, the number of Vietnam's IP addresses is in the ghost computer network (botnet) of 4,300,218 addresses, decrease down 34.30% over the same period in 2018.
