Mr. Ngo Anh Tin - Director of Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology, briefly reported the S&T activities in the first 4 months of the year and the work plan for the last 8 months of the year. In particular, the Department of Science and Technology advised the People's Committee of Can Tho City to issue a Decision to issue the list of key technologies of the fourth industrial revolution to prioritize the allocation of resources for technology research, development and  application in Can Tho city; Issue the implementation plan of Decision No. 100 / QD-TTg, the project on the implementation, application and management of the traceability system in Can Tho city in the period of 2021-2030 and the Action Plan for implementing the third breakthrough stage of the Resolution of the Congress of the Party Committee of Can Tho City term of 2020-2025.

In addition, in the period of 2021 - 2025, the Department of Science and Technology has been approved by the City People's Committee 5 investment projects to develop material and technical facilities for S&T organizations to contribute to improving the capacity of S&T information activities to strongly develop technical services for standards, measurement and quality, to accelerate the application of S&T advances; expanding business incubators and fields at Vietnam-Korea Industrial Technology Incubator (KVIP).

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc He, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee highly appreciated the achievements of the city's science and technology industry, a united team, completing the work that  Party Committee - People's Council - City People's Committee assigned; Intellectual property in the province has been accelerated to support activities for businesses.

The Vice Chairman of the city also proposed to the Ministry of Science and Technology to sign a comprehensive cooperation between the Ministry of Science and Technology and Can Tho city in 2021 and assigned the Department of Science and Technology to be the focal point to coordinate the implementation of specific activities with cases and departments in the shortest time.

Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat, Minister of Science and Technology, highly appreciated the achievements of the city's S&T sector in the recent years and agreed highly with the proposal of a comprehensive cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Science and Technology and Can Tho city next time; acknowledges the opinions and proposals of delegates and directs the units under the Ministry to pay attention and solve them.

As for the construction of a technology trading floor in Can Tho, the head of the Ministry of Science and Technology said that the implementation of the project is very necessary to contribute to promoting and developing the technology market of the Mekong Delta as well as the whole country. Can Tho city needs to implement the project completely and the Ministry of Science and Technology will care and support the technology trading floor to come into operation soon.

The Minister also emphasized the role and position of Can Tho in the Mekong Delta region and hoped that the locality would continue to promote its strengths to connect and develop S&T with other provinces and cities in the region.
