The  Annual Report 2022 is a collaborative research project by VCCI Can Tho and the Fulbright School of Public Policy and Management (FSPPM) with the participation of leading experts in the fields of economics, policy, agriculture, environment, energy, transport, logistics, and etc. to provide information on the economic situation of the Mekong Delta and important issues of the region.

The Mekong Delta Annual Economic Report (MDR) 2022 is the second year of implementation and is the  and complete report on an economic region across the country. The 2022 report with the topic "Development Model Transformation and Integrated Planning" focuses on studying the agricultural transformation model, assessing the impact of the Mekong Delta Integrated Plan for the period of 2021-2030 with a vision to 2050 according to the plan. Decision No.287/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister issued on February 28, 2022.

The annual report is structured according to the following structure: Overview of the world and domestic economy; The economic update of the Mekong Delta and the target will focus on a number of select topics, especially important for the Mekong Delta. This year, the content of the Report consists of 3 main parts, including (1) Economic overview: Current status of the world economy "post-Covid 19", Vietnam's macroeconomic situation 2020-2021, global economic impact for the Mekong Delta economy; (2) Economic Update of the Mekong Delta: Economic Overview of the Mekong Delta, Population, Employment and Living Standards 2020, business environment and enterprise development; investment, credit, processing industry, domestic market and import-export; and (3) Focus in 2021: Agricultural transformation, current status of transport and logistics in the Mekong Delta, integrated planning impacts on the Mekong Delta (agricultural transformation, transport and logistics infrastructure, energy transition).

The report has a lot of important information and comments to be made, sketching a full picture with many challenges but also many opportunities for the Mekong Delta in the future, presented in 04 main chapters of the Report. The 2022 report has been completed and released at an important time: The Government issued the Mekong Delta Integrated Plan for the period of 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, along with major investment decisions for the region.

Along with the Announcement Ceremony of "Mekong Delta Annual Economic Report 2022", a policy workshop "Mekong Delta development seen from integrated planning" was also organized by VCCI Can Tho on the same day with the coordination of the Consulate General Australia in HCMC and the German Technical Cooperation (GIZ).
