Over the past 9 months working, Bac Lieu Wind power plan is now connecting to national grid with capacity of more than 20 Million kWh. Expectedly, in 2015, the power output could be more 16 times than current power capacity.

On February 8, along Bac Lieu coastline, there are over 50 turbine pillars that are ready for commencement of construction. Once finished, 52 sets of turbine (made in US with cost approximately 2,000 billion VND) will be attached to pillars, promisingly take part in national grid in quarter 4, 2015.
On May 29, 2013, finally, the first 10 wind power turbines have already put into operation after 3 years working in extreme weather conditions. These turbines have capacity of 16 MW which produce 56 million kWh/year. Within 9 months operation, it contributed to national grid 20 million kWh, reached 35 billion VND.
According to the Project Management Committee, turbines are made of stainless steel, 80 m in height and 4 m in diameter, weighted 200 tones. The polymer blade is 42 m long and foldable; the automatic control system can fold it back in bad weather condition.
The Bac Lieu Wind power plan located in Vinh Trach Dong commune, a coastal region in Bac Lieu province, with total investment cost about 5,200 billion VND. Once 62 turbines finished, it could contribute to national grid about 320 million kWh/year.
