"Welcome Vietnamese migrant birds 2013 " in Dong Thap
On November 30, at Tram Chim National Park, Wildlife Tourism Company connected with International Bird Conservation Organization, UK Bird Protection Association, Vietnam Nature Center and Tram Chim National Park to organize event "Welcome Vietnamese migratory birds 2013."


This is an event to propagate and raise awareness about environmental protection, the conservation of wild birds; enhance understanding of migratory birds and bird’s migratory seasons, the need to protect the habitats along the flyways of migratory birds.

Introduction on characteristics, migration process of birds, Mr. Nguyen Hoai Bao - University of Natural Sciences said that in Vietnam, migrant birds accounted for over 60%. Kind of birds can fly within 8 days without eating, rest, and so on.

More than 1,800 species of bird in the world have adapted to this behavior. Winter is coming, millions of birds in North cold regions fly way to find warm places, rich food and etc.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Director of Tram Chim National Park said presently there are 11 sets, 46 families and 231 species, including 32 rare species in the Red Book of International Nature Conservation Organization (INCO) are living in National Park.

Particularly, Sarus Cranes live here, find forages starting from January to May after that they fly away and reproduce elsewhere.

Tram Chim National Park, viewers can use binoculars, telephoto tube, lookup system, shooting skills and identification of birds to understand migratory birds and shelter birds in the place.
