Vietnam - Denmark: Strengthened cooperation in coping with climate change and green growth

On May 19, Minister Tran Hong Ha had a meeting with the Ambassador Charlotte Laursen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Denmark in Vietnam. Attending the meeting, there were representatives of the International Cooperation Department, General Department of Environment, Department of Hydrometeorology and Climate Change, Ministry Office.

Minister Tran Hong Ha welcomed Mrs. Ambassador Charlotte Laursen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Denmark in Vietnam.
At the meeting, Minister Tran Hong Ha pleased to welcome Mrs. Ambassador visited Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (NRE). The Minister appreciated the support of Denmark to Vietnam in coping with climate change and green growth, namely the National Target Programs respond to Climate Change in Vietnam.
The Minister also said that he will join Vietnamese delegation to attend the Global Green Growth forum (3GF) from June 06 to 07, 2016 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The Minister said that the diversification of sources of public investment, investment from the private sector as well as international support for adaptation, mitigation of climate change and green growth are very essential. 3GF experiences in mobilizing financial resources and human resources for green growth activities worldwide will help Vietnam has sufficient resources for adaptation activities to climate change and green growth.
Speaking at the meeting, the Ambassador appreciated Charlotte Laursen effective and practical cooperation in the field of natural resources and the environment between Vietnam and Denmark in the recent times. She also confirmed that Denmark is ready to cooperate with Vietnam, especially in the areas of green growth, climate change.
Ending the meeting, Minister Tran Hong Ha thanked the Ambassador for taking the time to visit and work with Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and wished the stronger bilateral relations to achieve new development in the future. |
