Protection of intellectual property, especially patent protection is a legal mechanism to create copyrights, thereby helping businesses create a competitive advantage.
A survey of the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City with nearly 4,000 businesses in Ho Chi Minh City in 2019 showed that only 1.63% of enterprises have trained, or specialized intellectual property personnel; and 2.25% of enterprises have issued internal regulations, regulations on management of intellectual property.
April 26 every year is recognized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) as "World Intellectual Property Day". On this day, propaganda activities focus on promoting creative activities in particular and intellectual property in general. Intellectual property propaganda activities are announced on the website of the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam www.noip.gov.vn.
The National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam has granted Title No. 4-0377456 to protect the trademark "Quang Thanh QT, picture" for Quang Thanh One Member Limited Company according to the Industrial Property Official Gazette No. 396, volume B - Book 3 of March / 2021.
The National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam decided to issue the Certificate of Geographical Indication Registration No. 00103 for the 'Ben Tre' crayfish product. Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee is the organization that manages this geographical indication.
As part of a series of activities in response to the World Intellectual Property Day April 26, the afternoon of April 1, the seminar with the press on intellectual property took place in Bac Giang province. Attending the seminar, there were Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Mai Son province, Director of the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam Dinh Huu Phi, Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Bac Giang province Nguyen Thanh Binh and representatives of many central press agencies and localities.
According to Mr. Dinh Huu Phi - Director of the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam, not all geographical indications, after being protected, can be exploited effectively. “How to ensure quality, product origin, sustainable development depends on many conditions, such as issues related to management, regulations, implementation organization. It goes into the locality, to the producers, to the consumer, to the handling of violations, and etc."
In the afternoon of April 1, in Bac Giang City, National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam (IP) cooperated with the Department of Science and Technology of Bac Giang province to hold a workshop on intellectual property in response to World Intellectual Property Day April 26.
Towards celebrating Vietnam Brand Day April 20, in order to increase awareness among the people and the business community about the Vietnam National Brand Program, promote and introduce Vietnamese businesses that have commercial products. The national brand has been recognized by the Government to domestic and foreign social communities, the Department of Trade Promotion, the Ministry of Industry and Trade continues to organize the Vietnam National Brand Week 2021 from April 19-25, 2021.
The National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam granted Title No. 4-0377512 to protect the trademark "NANOCO" for the applicant Lam Dieu Phi according to the Industrial Property Official Gazette No. 396, volume B - Book 3 March 2021.
