Under the plan, the system will apply to industrial design applications on April 1, 2019, to the end of 2019, which will apply to trademarks, early 2020 will apply with inventions, and by the end of 2020 will complete the online public service.
Mr. Phi said, the IPAS system will help speed up the processing of applications, addressing the pending situation - this advantage and quickness "will promote the registration of protection of patent owners in particular and intellectual property in general. ”
According to Mr. Phi, international cooperation activities on IP are essential to help Vietnam well perform the role of President of the WIPO General Assembly (term of 2018-2019).
For 2019 plan, the Ministry of Science and Technology agreed with the NOIP to be the Chairman of the ASEAN Working Group on IPs for the term of 2019-2020. So far, this position has been rotated by ASEAN countries, only 4 countries Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar have never done.
"This is an opportunity to show and develop Vietnam's IP role in the ASEAN community," Mr.Phi said, "however, there will be challenges in IP human resources, time and funding." |
