Vietnam - Korea: Promoted science and technology cooperation
On October 27, in Hanoi, Minister of Science and Technology (S&T) Nguyen Quan had a meeting with Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, People’s Republic of Korea Ri Riong Nam on occasion of visitting and working in Vietnam.


Minister Nguyen Quan and Ri Riơng Nam gave gift and took souvenir photos at the meeting.

At the meeting, Minister Ri Riơng Nam said Korea always considers science and technology as "importance" of economic and social development and creates conditions, favorable environment for scientists. Concurrently, express invitation of Vietnamese scientists to visit Korea in order to promote cooperation in science and technology as well as to expand exchanges and cooperation with Vietnam Ministry of Science and Technology.

At the meeting, Minister Nguyen Quan highly appreciated the cooperation between two countries in the last times, especially in the field of science and technology. However, the international trend of integration today increasingly eventful, S&T activities should have appropriate mechanisms and policies in science and technology activities of each country.

Accordingly, Minister Nguyen Quan committed soon complete the draft agreement on scientific and technological cooperation and will conclude it in the shortest time. The Minister hoped the field of scientific and technological cooperation between two countries will step up to a new level, especially in some areas Vietnam has strengths, such as agriculture; information technology; electronics and telecommunication, and etc.
