Generate electricity from waste paper
Engineers’ giant Sony Company, Japan has sought to invent energy from waste paper.

At the trade of products for environment in Tokyo, Sony had invited some children perform experiments like putting waste paper into mixture of water and some kind of enzyme, shake up and wait a few minutes. This mixture was then produce electricity, which is enough to generate power to a small electric fan.
"The mechanism is similar to the way bookworm generate energy," said Chisato Kitsukawa, responsible for public relations at Sony told AFP.
He said that new technology was first launched as part of the manufacturing process "bio battery" of Sony.
The enzyme has broken the link of waste paper’s structure, and is handled by a group of other enzyme responsible for providing hydrogen ions and electrons. The electrons move around this orbit and generate a source of energy, while the hydrogen ions combine with oxygen to form water molecules.
"The bio battery is such a friendly environment battery and great potential for future development, by not using metals and other toxic chemicals," he said Kitsukawa.
But this technology still needs a long time before going into mass production due to its low power supply, not enough power supply capacity for larger equipment and in the long run, and not replace batteries are popular today.
