In the morning of December 6, the National Olympic Student Olympics 2017 (OLP 2017) was organized by Ho Chi Minh City University of Pedagogy College, officially opened.Ho Chi Minh City Pedagogical University is also one of the 18 ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ACM) in Asia.

It is developed and organized by Vietnam Informatics Association and Vietnam Student Association since 1992, the National Informatics Olympiad has become a festival of ICT-loving students at universities and collages nationwide.

Since 2007, Vietnamese Informatics Olympiad has been linked to the ACM / ICPC International Student Programming Contest as a Computer Contest for Vietnamese Students and the Asian Region. The event was sponsored by Ministry of Information and Communications, Ministry of Science and Technology and Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations.
