Solar power combined with agriculture or high-tech agriculture both benefits the shortage of on-site power supply and creates more jobs and local agricultural development.
On 4/6, in Binh Nguyen commune, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai, it took place the inauguration ceremony of Binh Nguyen solar power plant. Up to this point, this is the largest solar power plant in Quang Ngai province.
On May 31, 2016, the first Smart Energy Hackathon will take place in Vietnam to develop a sustainable energy ecosystem.
To meet the demand for electricity in Vietnam, coal power will continue to grow in the coming years but wind and solar power will catch up with this trend, according to Reuters.

Mr. Le Thanh Liem - Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just signed to issue documents on electricity saving program in the city. The goal is that agencies and units make at least 10% savings in annual electricity costs.
The Prime Minister has approved the National Program on economical and efficient use of energy for the period of 2019 - 2030.
