Inauguration of the first factory “turns wastes into energy”

On Sept. 19, Ha Noi People’s committee began to build hazardous industrial waste treatment system for a generator in Nam Son, Soc Son district. This is the first factory that can turn wastes into electricity.

The project for building industrial waste treatment system for generators in Nam Son waste treatment complex with the capacity of 75 tons/day including hazardous industrial wastes. Meanwhile, using heat to generate electricity with the capacity of 1930 kW.
This is the first standard model in Vietnam, inherited Japanese advanced incinerator technology which can recycle wastes into electricity.
The project was funded by New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), Japan. With total investment was over 612 billions VND including 472 billions VND non-refundable aids and 140 billions VND counterpart fund. Expectedly, the project will finish within 1 year.
According to the reviews, once the factory has finished and comes into operation, it will partially contribute to use of efficient energy and environmental protection as for building incinerator, emission treatment and heat recovery system. This will help reduce pressure on solid waste landfill in the city, handle thoroughly hazardous industrial wastes in Hanoi and nearby areas.
