Bioenergy illuminates Christmas pines

|
Scientists at the Institute of Big Bang, England have used plants to capture energy and help illuminate the decorative bulbs on the Christmas pines. These pines will be placed in the Southbank (London) to create a spectacular sight for the first time in the world.

Batteries for the Christmas pine this year are emitted from sprouting five grain blocks. Each block contained 200 grains, so a total of 1,000 seeds will generate 63 volts of power for pines that are 2.43 m in height. Copper and zinc electrodes are placed on the germination grain block to create a chemical reaction, electrical current can be obtained on battery and illuminates the LEDs on the pines.
According to Director of Prototyping Agency when the germination seed are still fresh power supply still continue. Expectedly, the sprouts will be fresh within a month. In theory, the vegetables and fruits can provide the bioelectricity but tree’s sprouts are the most effective. |
