Biofuels have to conquer consumers
According to Decision No 53 of Prime Minister on the roadmap for biofuel consumption (E5) in the market, on December 1, 2014, the road motor vehicles in 7 provinces and cities have to use E5 bio gasoline.

On December 1, 2015, all motor vehicles in the whole country must use bio-gasoline, blended gasoline at the rate of 5% ethanol with 95% 92 RON unleaded gasoline.

However, with just over 8 months is the time required to use bio-gasoline in 7 provinces and big cities (Hanoi, Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh city, Can Tho, Da Nang, Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Quang Ngai), but some stores don’t have much biofuel. Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh city only have some stores of petroleum retail network of Vietnam National Petroleum Corporation (PetroVietnam) - the pioneer produces ethanol for blending bio-gasoline (E5). This suggests that it is difficult to buy bio-gasoline in a convenient place.

Although the all country has only 170 bio-fuel stores of total 13,000 retail gasoline outlets, but Deputy chief of Science and Technology department, Ministry of Industry and Trade Nguyen Phu Cuong still trust will comply with roadmap which has been issued by Prime Minister.

Demand for bio-fuel use as well as its benefits to the environment does not need to argue anymore. However, how consumers choose, enterprises are voluntary and look forward to this product, it is not an administrative orders. And, it is more important to develop sustainable bio-fuel sources without depending on cassava source, without affecting food security and protection of the environment well.
