Two Vietnam and Denmark businesses have signed a cooperation to develop wind power farms in Huong Linh Commune (Quang Tri).

Vietnam has great potential for wind power development. In which, Binh Thuan and Ninh Thuan are two provinces with the highest potential and high wind speed. However, currently only four wind power projects have electricity and are integrated into the national power system.

On December 6, in Ho Chi Minh City, Tan Phu Hoan Corporation Joint Stock Company (THC) and Vestas ASP - Denmark signed a Memorandum of Understanding Study on wind power in Huong Linh Commune, Quang Tri Province. The project is worth more than 22 million euros and is implemented within 8 months.

The program will support the installation of solar power in Ho Chi Minh City at a price of 2,000 VND / KWh electricity generated from the solar power system.

On November 20, the national energy efficiency award for Industry 2017 was officially launched.

On October 24, Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee held a conference on renewable energy development and evaluated the potential of renewable energy (RE) forms from now to 2030 with a vision to 2035. Attending the conference, there were Pham Trong Thuc, Department of Renewable Energy (Ministry of Industry and Trade) with leaders of branches, localities and more than 150 enterprises inside and outside the province.

On October 23, in Soc Trang, the working delegation of Department of Electricity and Renewable Energy (Ministry of Industry and Trade) had a meeting with Soc Trang Provincial People's Committee to evaluate the implementation of wind power projects under wind power development planning in the province.
