The workshop was attended by Argentine Ambassador in Vietnam Juan Carlos Valle Raleigh; representative of the US embassy in Hanoi; FIRST project; Fulbright Program; Universities: Central Highlands and Northwest; Institutes: Corn Research, Food Plants.

Especially the participation of Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ignacio Ciampitti, senior expert in satellite image exploitation research in crop production, precise agriculture, crop science, extension and Kansas State University's agronomic crop system (United States).

This is a pioneering research project in the application of satellite images to assess the situation of maize production and the first study in Vietnam in predicting crop yields. Currently, the project is completing a tool to evaluate production and predict corn productivity to soon apply to production.

Participants of the workshop said that in the past, in the management of agricultural production in Vietnam, more attention was paid to individual solutions, such as new varieties, or independent technical measures beause it has not yet exploited the effectiveness of the status assessment, estimation, forecast and accessment of the system, so the efficiency is still low.

The workshop was organized to exchange, discuss, share experiences in the orientation and development of plant science research groups, in the context of technology application; Technology transfer / extension and cooperation with farmers and production associations; Data exploitation, the role of statistics in research and publication; Experience in writing and posting international articles.
