The objective of the project is to assess the effects of free trade agreements (FTAs) that Vietnam participates in some key products of Can Tho (rice, aquatic products, fruits, and garments, leather shoes), thereby proposing solutions and contents to be prepareed by the authorities, businesses and related organizations to best exploit opportunities and respond to challenges arising from implementation of free trade agreements.

Study was implemented from September 2017, the project provides general assessments on the impact of the Free Trade Agreement on economic and some key products of Can Tho. Therby, propose solutions groups, such as building and managing supply chain of key products; solutions to improve competitiveness for businesses; institutional solutions; human resources and the situation of registration for protection of industrial property rights, plant varieties and etc.

The Acceptance Council highly appreciated the research results of the project and requested the research team to fully accept the criticisms, suggestions and comments of the Council members in order to continue to complet soon results into practical applications.
