In the afternoon of February 7, 2020, Can Tho City Department of Science and Technology organized the Science and Technology Council to select the project "Choosing to create freedom ranger chickens in Can Tho by molecular indicator method".

The study is implemented by Co-author Deputy Prof. Dr. Do Vo Anh Khoa and Dr. Nguyen Tuyet Giang – Can Tho City Breeding Association, Vietnam Livestock Association. Can Tho Applied Science and Technology Center is a presiding agency.

The research team and presiding agency.The project aims to select a set of freedom ranger chicken (2-3 lines) with good productivity and quality of meat, serving the production and consumption needs of people in Cuu Long Delta; Choose to create at least two lines of chickens with the number of 200-300 chickens per line, with superior characteristics compared to local chickens, such as 10-15% increase in meat yield, quality of meat is good and stable equivalent to local chicken meat, reducing feed conversion ratio by 5-10% and shortening 10-15 days. Develop a process to create freedom ranger chicken lines with high productivity and good meat quality; building a process of raising freedom ranger chicken lines with high productivity and good meat quality.
The research content of the project includes: Building experimental chicken flock; research on molecular markers to support the selection of chicken strains in the Mekong Delta; choose to create high quality, freedom ranger chicken lines; building up a process of creating freedom ranger chicken lines with high productivity and good meat quality; building a process of raising freedom ranger chicken lines with high productivity and good meat quality.
