At the meeting, Prof. Nghiem Duc Long, Chairman of VASEA, introduced the birth and activities of the Association, emphasizing the multifaceted cooperative activities of the Association's members with Vietnam. A number of members of the Association of Vietnamese Intellectuals and Experts in Australia and Vietnamese businesses in Australia also introduced to the Minister and members of the delegation the fields and research projects that are being carried out and have many potential cooperation opportunities with Vietnam.

These include research on post-harvest technology; extraction technology and application of biological compounds from nature; Nanotechnology; water treatment membrane technology; microplastic removal technology; 5G-6G technology and research on antibiotic-resistant bacteria, or research into building a set of structural standards and statistical procedures for carbon emissions in products, nad etc.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Huynh Thanh Dat expressed his pleasure to attend the meeting of intellectuals. This is an opportunity to meet, exchange and praise the practical contributions of Vietnamese intellectuals, scientists and experts who have been living and working in Australia recently. At the same time, the meeting also demonstrated the Party and State's concern and respect for the team of scientific intellectuals, exchanging, motivating, and encouraging the efforts and advancement of the Vietnamese S&T intellectual community.

Sharing about the policy of promoting and attracting S&T talents and S&T intellectuals, Minister Huynh Thanh Dat said, in the context of globalization and the S&T development trend of the 4th Industrial Revolution, The Party's consistent viewpoint on national development is "must be fair and rely on science and technology", "developing science and technology is a top national policy, playing a key role in the country's socio-economic development" . Therefore, the task given to the scientific and technological intellectual team is enormous and increasingly heavy. The 13th Party Congress continues to emphasize the need to develop science and technology and innovation as a strategic breakthrough for the country, especially in the context of the digital technology revolution taking place strongly globally today. The team of Vietnamese scientific and technological intellectuals is the nucleus of this process.
