Minister Huynh Thanh Dat presented a souvenir to Mrs. Elanor Huntington, CEO of CSIRO.
At CSIRO, Minister Huynh Thanh Dat highly appreciated the results of implementing the Vietnam-Australia Innovation Partnership Program (Aus4Innovation) supported by the Australian Government in helping Vietnamese important sectors, such as agriculture and produce step by step modern production based on application, commercialization of research results and capture of economic benefits while still ensuring employment opportunities for Vietnam's workforce in the future, especially is in the context of the Industrial Revolution 4.0.
Minister Huynh Thanh Dat also emphasized CSIRO's support to the Ministry of Science and Technology in building a model to assess the impact of technology application and development in economic growth; Building innovation policies based on scientific methods and empirical arguments.
“Australia's extension of the Aus4Innovation Program until 2028 shows its continued commitment to supporting Vietnam in developing a strong innovation system, including projects implemented by CSIRO and the Ministry of Science and Technology to encourage new ideas to ensure sustainable development in agriculture", Minister Huynh Thanh Dat emphasized.
In addition, Minister Huynh Thanh Dat requested CSIRO to continue supporting in promoting innovation projects; amend the Law on Science and Technology as well as related law projects and further promote cooperation between the two countries in this field.
At the meeting, Mrs. Elanor Huntington expressed her pleasure to welcome Minister Huynh Thanh Dat and the delegation of the Ministry of Science and Technology. Mrs. Elanor Huntington acknowledged Vietnam's proposals and pledged to coordinate closely with the Ministry of Science and Technology to resolve issues of mutual concern.
At ACIAR, Minister Huynh Thanh Dat highly appreciated the fact that the two agencies are coordinating to implement the Vietnam - Australia Cooperation Program under the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two sides signed in 2018 in the field of agriculture, and emphasized that cooperative activities take place on the basis of equality and reciprocity and have promoted cooperation between research agencies of the two sides. |
