How has the Internet changed Vietnamese life over the past 20 years?
About 20 years since the Internet was present in Vietnam, the habits of Vietnamese people have changed in every step of the world.


On November 19, 2017, the Internet was officially offered to the people of the country. VNPT, Netnam are the first enterprises to provide Internet services. At this time the Internet is provided on the fixed telephone network infrastructure, access speed is very limited. After 20 years of development, Vietnam now has 64 million Internet users, accounting for 67% of the country's population, Vietnam is the country with the amount of users ranked 12th worldwide and ranked the sixth among 35 countries / territories in Asia.

At this time many people have used Internet calling services at a much lower cost than traditional telephone services.

Not only young people but also old people began to abandon the habit of reading newspapers to read online newspapers.



Internet services had been available in Vietnam since 1997 with limited speed due to the availability of fixed-line telephone infrastructure. By 2003, ADSL broadband Internet was officially introduced to the market, allowing users to access high-speed Internet, while also using other services such as telephone and fax. This time the Internet access service stores massively appeared in the market.
