More solar power projects in Binh Dinh have been approved investment
Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee has approved the policy to allow Vietnam Renewable Energy Joint Stock Company to invest in constructing Tra O Lake solar power plant in Chau Truc village, My Chau commune ( Phu My) Binh Dinh province.


According to the investor's registration dossier, Tra O lake solar power plant was built on an area of ​​60 hectares of water surface and 0.6 hectares of land, with designed capacity of 50 MWp, total investment of 1,440 billion VND. It is expected to the second quarter of 2019, the plant will complete and put into operation.

When it puts into operation, the plant will contribute to increase the capacity of electricity to the national grid, meet the increasing demand for electricity, facilitate the development of industry, services, mechanical transformation of economic structure in the province.

According to the power development plan of Binh Dinh province for the period of 2016 to 2025, by 2035, the growth rate of commercial electricity for the period of 2016 - 2020 is 14.2%. In Binh Dinh, the hydropower development has been saturated with only 11 small hydropower plants with a capacity of 366 MW previously approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

According to the Energy Institute (Ministry of Industry and Trade), Binh Dinh has little potential for generating electricity from biomass. Geothermal potential for electricity generation remains in the research stage, doesn’t survey and assess.
