EVN Ho Chi Minh City focuses on investing in constructing projects to enhance electric capacity
Anticipating the increase in demand for electricity, so from the beginning of 2020, Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC) has planned to invest in new construction and increase the capacity of many stations and power grids, especially investments in new residential development areas, meeting customer needs.


EVN Ho Chi Minh City said that in the first 4 months of 2020, the city's total commercial electricity output was equivalent to the same period in 2019. The peak capacity of Pmax in 2020 as of May is 4,520 MW, almost equal to the peak capacity of Pmax in 2019 is 4,568 MW.

However, due to the effects of the Covid-19 epidemic, electricity for manufacturing, construction, trade and hotels declined. Meanwhile, electricity for residential consumption is rising.

Anticipating an increase in electricity demand, EVN Ho Chi Minh City has instructed power companies to focus on investing in new construction and increasing the capacity of many stations and power grids, especially from the beginning of 2020, new residential development area.

Mr. Huynh Chi Cuong - Deputy Director - An Phu Dong Power Company (District 12) - said, implementing the policy of the corporation, from the beginning of the year, An Phu Dong Electricity Company has planned and monitored the situation of measuring far from stations to get the best plan, aiming to minimize the overloaded, full-load and large-phase deviation stations causing wide power outages in a station.
