Audiobook copyright issues in the digital transformation era
Audiobooks are a form of information transmission contained within a book. Just like with printed or e-books, the information is preserved and presented in an authentic way. Audiobook users will hear a person reading out loud through media or smart apps.

Audio books are the inevitable trend of the publishing industry when the need for digital transformation has "touched" most areas of life. However, audiobook copyright is one of the issues of concern today.

Industry 4.0 has brought about rapid changes in many areas of life, including the book industry. The emergence of electronic books (ebooks) and audio books has made the approach and reading habits begin to change. On the other hand, due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, when the social distancing regulations were implemented, publishers and book companies who had difficulty in publishing paper books chose a new direction - audiobooks.

Currently, the increasing number of users is a proof that audiobooks are the right and necessary direction to meet the needs of readers and contribute to the development of the digital economy in the publishing sector.

In fact, audiobooks appeared on the YouTube platform quite early, many audiobook videos have now reached millions of views. For example, the famous book "Journey to the East", "The Alchemist", "Eternal life" ... just type the keyword title of the book on the YouTube search section, there are many available channels to read for listeners, from the whole set or in parts.

Not only famous books, many books in many different fields have been converted into audio books, satisfying the increasing demand for "listening to books" of the digital generation, especially during the relaxation time due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

However, in order to attract users of audiobook applications, it is necessary to invest thoughtfully and professionally for each book, from choosing books, to finding voices, recording, editing, especially copyright issues.

The method of creating audiobooks is quite simple because with the available content, a person with a simple recording device, such as a phone and microphone can make an audiobook. Not to mention, with the advancements of technology, today there are software that can turn the text on the page of the book into the voice that has been tuned. That is, just scanning this software, the pages of written books will be read into audio without spending time reading.
