Promote mechanization and application of science and technology in agricultural production
Since the beginning of the year, Can Tho City's Agriculture sector has increased the application of mechanization; science and technology transfer; implement solutions to make the most of the opportunities of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, especially in the fields of high-tech, organic and biotechnology agriculture.

Accordingly, the city actively supports and guides farmers to build effective models of mechanization, as well as establishes cooperatives and technical service groups to serve agricultural services in agricultural production. Up to now, in rice production, almost 100% of the stages of land preparation, harvesting, etc. are mechanized.

The stages of sowing, fertilizing, spraying pesticides, collecting straw, and etc. are also gradually mechanized with an increasing and synchronous rate. Besides, the Agriculture sector also implements programs and plans in 2023; promote the transfer and application of science and technology in production. In June, 2023, 7 training courses were organized, with 225 farmers attending. In the first 6 months of 2023, 36 training courses were organized, 4,103 turns of farmers; 7 seminars, with over 275 farmers attending.

The training sessions and seminars revolved around the following content: application of technical advances in cultivation of rice, vegetables, ornamental flowers, fruit trees, livestock, aquaculture, etc., in order to develop production and help farmers, reduce costs, increase income.
