Phong Dien currently has more than 8,789 hectares of fruit trees, with many types of high economic value such as durian, Ha Chau strawberry, star apple, Ido longan, seedless lemon, mangosteen, honey orange, and etc. well known by many people to and consume domestic and foreign markets. Promoting the strength of fruit orchards, over the past time, the Agriculture sector of Phong Dien district has actively supported and encouraged farmers to renovate mixed gardens and inefficient gardens to grow delicious and specialty fruit trees to bring to high economic efficiency.

In the first half of 2023 alone, farmers in the district have rehabilitated 51ha of fruit gardens and 186ha of inefficient rice-growing land, converting them to orchards of high economic value. In addition, the district regularly coordinates with relevant units to organize training and transfer science and technology to farmers.

In order to develop fruit trees sustainably and increase the value and income of farmers, Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Vice Chairman of Phong Dien District People's Committee, said: The district is interested in building a concentrated fruit tree production area to facilitate the application of science and technology to enhance product value.

At the same time, direct the district Agriculture sector to regularly monitor plant diseases, instruct farmers on how to take care of fruit trees; consolidate cooperatives and cooperative groups in fruit tree production. Promote propaganda and mobilization of farmers to produce according to the process and standards to meet the needs of domestic and foreign markets. The district focuses on connecting and supporting gardeners to sign contracts with companies, businesses, and purchasing units to consume fruits, creating stable output for fruit trees.
