In the recent years, the development of organic agricultural products in Vietnam has received considerable support from the State through various policies, programs and measures. This support not only helps to improve the quality of agricultural products but also promotes the sustainability of the agricultural sector. Up to now, Vietnam has had 59/63 provinces and cities across the country implement organic agriculture and spread it more and more strongly.

According to Assoc. Dr. Tran Thi Thanh Binh (University of Forestry), organic agriculture will continue to be developed because it is bringing great benefits to the community and agriculture. Specifically, organic agriculture is a production system that protects soil resources, ecosystems and human health, based on ecological cycles, biodiversity adapting to natural conditions, not using factors that have a negative impact on the ecological environment. Organic agriculture is a combination of traditional techniques and scientific advances to benefit the common environment, creating fair relationships and a balanced life for everyone in the ecosystem.

Besides, the organic agricultural product market will continue to grow strongly when the demand for organic food is on the rise. However, the development of organic agriculture in Vietnam still faces many difficulties in terms of awareness. Production costs, input materials for organic agricultural production are high, human resources and technology application are limited. In addition, Vietnam also faces two major challenges, namely food safety and hygiene and climate change, in the process of branding and developing sustainable organic agriculture.
