Research on technical measures to cultivate Auspicious flowers under growing conditions in Ho Chi Minh City
According to Lam Dong Provinve Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, auspicious flowers include two main groups: single-petaled and double-petaled varieties. Currently, the group of double petals is cultivated and commercialized more than the group of single petals. By crossbreeding and improving varieties, we have created varieties of double petals with high yield and good flower quality, such as Borealis, Excalibur, Rosanne, Doublini, Rosita, Voyage. Rosita group is the most commonly grown variety in Lam Dong province, flower diameter is 4-5 cm, has 6 to 7 layers of petals with common colors white bordered purple, white bordered pink, pink, jade.

The results showed that, the eight varieties of auspicious flowers surveyed had a high survival rate (above 91%), growth time from 91.3 to 101.3 days. In which, 3 auspicious flower varieties Rosita Pink Picotee, Rosita Jade and Rosita Pure White have better growth and development in terms of number of leaves (19.2 - 28.5 pairs of leaves/plant), number of branches (3, 6 - 4.8 branches/plant), stem diameter (4.1 - 4.6 mm), number of buds (6.2 - 6.8), number of flowers (5.3 - 5.8), durability flowers (15.2 - 18.8 days) and good disease resistance. These are promising varieties to develop a potted auspicious flower model, diversifying flower and ornamental products to supply to the Ho Chi Minh City market.

The topic also provides the technical process of growing potted auspiaceae in Ho Chi Minh City with specific parameters of planting season, preparation of planting area, selection of varieties, preparation of substrates, planting and care, pest control, harvesting, etc. The results of the study are a reference source for studies related to the field of flowers and ornamental plants and progress to perfecting the process of cultivating potted auspicious plants in Ho Chi Minh City.
