The world's weirdest species set on map
Scientists in Germany have identified the areas on over the world where the appearance of mammals and amphibians with different evolutionary are in danger worldwide. The areas with large concentrations of these species are highlighted as global conservation priorities.

The map reveals the areas where mammal and amphibian protected are priority, this will be reflecting the difference of evolutional history and threatened two groups of species have to face. For mammals, the best management efforts are focus on Southeast Asia, South Africa and Madagascar. Also amphibians, Central America and South America are highlighted as priorities.

Professor Jonathan Baillie, conservation director of the Zoological Society of London said that the results of the map of mammals and amphibians are different evolutional progress and in danger worldwide; it is worthy of warning. Currently, only 5% of areas were identified as priorities for mammals and 15% of the area for amphibians is protected.
Dr. Kamran Safi, one of the authors of the study on birds Max Planck Institute, Germany, said: This is the first global map considered as the uniqueness of the species as well as threats. Currently, they have identified priority areas where mammals and amphibians with evolutionary differences are endangered globally so that we are able to continue to protect them better.
