Decoding mysterious of white tiger
Chinese scientists have found clues behind the white feathers of the white tiger, and found that if it is just a small point changed in pigmentation genes also being an sufficient condition on animals’ albinism, including people.


For years, experts have said that the white tiger is a rare variant of a species of Bengal orange tiger. To maintain these very special individuals, so many professionals in the world have attempted to breed the white tiger being under the auspices of humanity.

Recently, according to research published in the journal Current Biology, Shu-Jin Luo's Beijing University and colleagues studied the genes of a family living in the zoo of tiger Chimelong in Guangzhou. They have focused on pigmentation gene called SLC45A2, which is involved in a number of bright colors and races of other animals, including horses, chickens, and fish. Team experts found in white tigers, SLC45A2 version prevents the production of red and gold, but does not affect black. This explains why there are black stripes on white tiger.
