Ho Chi Minh City Youth Informatics Contest jointly coordinated by Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Information and Communications, Department of Education and Training, City Television, and Computer Association (HCA) to organize in order to develop the movement of learning, innovation and application of information technology among the City's children. At the same time, contributing to discovering, gathering and promoting young talents in information technology, contributing to building information technology human resources for the City. Thereby, selecting the city team to participate in the 30th National Youth Informatics Contest in 2024.

The contest is organized for students studying at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, with two expected contents including: Information technology knowledge and skills test; Information technology innovation product competition.

It is known that in 2023, the 32nd Ho Chi Minh City Youth Informatics Contest honored 94 outstanding faces out of a total of 769 contestants from 22 districts, district unions, Thu Duc City Youth Union and 4 professional informatics teams in the City area. Besides, 47 best contestants from the contest were selected to join the Ho Chi Minh City team competing at the 29th National Youth Informatics Contest.
