Promoting science, technology and innovation cooperation with CSIRO - the world's leading multidisciplinary science and technology organization
Cooperation on science, technology and innovation between Vietnam's Ministry of Science and Technology and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) - one of the largest multi-disciplinary S&T organizations. The world's largest industry will create increasingly better conditions for scientists, S&T organizations and businesses of the two countries in the coming time.


According to the Prime Minister, CSIRO's orientations focusing on digital transformation, green transformation, climate change combat, innovation, agriculture are all consistent with Vietnam's development policies (Photo: VGP).

In the morning of March 8, 2024, in Canberra, continuing the official visit program to Australia, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited and worked at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) - one of the world's largest multidisciplinary science and technology (S&T) organizations. Also attending, there were Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat, members of the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, and Australian Foreign Minister Tim Watts.

At the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and delegates heard CSIRO General Director Doug Hilton reported on cooperation activities with Vietnam; Visit an exhibition introducing the results of cooperation between CSIRO and Vietnam; witnessed Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat and General Director of CSIRO signing a memorandum of cooperation between the two agencies.

Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat highly appreciated the Australian Government's support for the A4I Program since 2018 to present, in which CSIRO directly manages the Program with the active coordination of the Vietnam Ministry of Science and Technology. The Program's results have contributed to helping important Vietnamese sectors, such as agriculture and commercialize research results; capture economic benefits while ensuring employment opportunities for Vietnam's workforce in the future, especially in the context of the fourth industrial revolution.
