The Ta Quang Buu Prize will expand the consideration of awarding awards to scientists in the fields of science, society and humanities
On March 6, 2024, in Hanoi, Ta Quang Buu Award Council 2024 held a meeting to agree on the method and evaluation criteria for awarding the Ta Quang Buu Award 2024 in the form of direct and in-person. Deputy Minister of Science and Technology (S&T) Tran Hong Thai - Head of the Award Organization Board attended and presided the meeting.


Overview of the meeting 

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Hong Thai said that the Council needs to unify the method and criteria for evaluating and awarding Ta Quang Buu Award 2024 so that the implementation and selection of the Award can be effective, ensuring objectivity, transparency and scientific integrity; helping the Award to increasingly improve its quality, increase its reputation and spread widely to the community.

Deputy Minister Tran Hong Thai emphasized that the Ministry of Science and Technology will direct the National Science and Technology Development Fund to provide maximum support to the Council to ensure the Award is on schedule; At the same time, they expressed that the experts in the Council, based on Circular No. 18/2023/TT-BKHCN, amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Ta Quang Buu Award Regulations issued together with Circular No. 01/2015 /TT-BKHCN to maximize the Council's functions on the principle of democratic centralism.

Concluding the meeting, Prof. Dr. Tran Xuan Nam - Chairman of the  Ta Quang Buu Award Council 2024 said that the Council works according to the provisions of Circular No. 18/2023/TT-BKHCN and according to the principle of objectivity, democracy, information security. Members of the Scientific Council are responsible for monitoring, presenting, and reporting on proposals to the Award Council; The Industry Council and the Award Council may invite additional experts outside the Council with appropriate expertise (if necessary) to evaluate and ensure compliance with the project content.
