Before the forum, delegates visited the cultivation model of cucumber, hydroponic tomatoes with autopot technology, drip irrigation at Mr. Nguyen Hoang Khai’s household in Tan Hoa commune, model of abalone mushroom cultivation in the household of Mr. Huynh Tuong An in Ward 5 and model of growing orchids in Truong An commune, Vinh Long city, Vinh Long province.

Mr. Truong Vinh Yen, Director of Vinh Long Agricultural Extension Center, said: "The cucumber, tomato-based hydroponic model is applied by Autopot technology, which is imported from Israel. It is suitable with urban agriculture because the small scale does not occupy much space; used automatic irrigation technology does not take much time to fertilize, creates a green, clean and beautiful landscape, and meets the demand of clean vegetables of the people."

Mr. Nguyen Van Liem, Vice Director of Vinh Long Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said: "The average area of ​​agricultural production in each household in Vinh Long is very small, only 0.4 - 0.6ha per household. Face with urbanization and difficulties due to climate change, salinity intrusion, and development of urban agriculture and application of high technologies to production, bringing income for the people. However, the production of hi-tech agricultural products in Vinh Long is only applied on the farm scale; it can’t do large-scale mass production due to many reasons.
