Vocational training associated with high-tech agriculture transfer
In addition to the target of vocational training associated with job creation for rural workers, vocational training in Ho Chi Minh City also has additional tasks associated with the transfer of hi-tech agriculture to focus on restructuring the agricultural sector.


The objective of developing the agricultural sector in the period of 2018-2020 and the orientation to 2025 of Ho Chi Minh City is to focus on restructuring the agricultural industry towards high-tech agriculture.

In particular, the focus is on developing high-quality seedlings, high-tech agriculture and biotechnology to contribute to increasing added value and creating jobs for rural workers.

On the other hand, there are currently nearly 330,000 households with more than 1.2 million workers in suburban areas who are developing agriculture but affected by urbanization, the heaviest of which is agricultural land being affected narrow. Therefore, the city has demanded that at all costs to improve the quality of vocational training for rural workers through raising the value of agricultural production in the direction of developing high-tech agriculture.

In order to concretize the above objective, the city focuses on vocational training associated with the city's 6 major crops and livestock along the direction of hi-tech agricultural production and biotechnology; Producing high quality plant and animal breeds.

The city has also implemented solutions to support capital, interest rates, crop restructuring, and encourage high-tech agriculture. At the same time, converting and expanding the production scale to the provinces with agricultural land to jointly develop high-tech agriculture, which concentrated in the southern key region.

With that task, Cu Chi, Binh Chanh, Can Gio and City Agricultural Extension opened agriculture training courses to apply high-tech applications of hydroponic vegetable farming, dairy farming, giant freshwater prawn farming, and white leg shrimp farming, flower growing, high-tech vegetables, medicinal mushrooms, ornamental fish and etc.

Through vocational training classes, Ho Chi Minh City formed many high-tech agriculture models, such as orchids cutting branches, ornamental plants, bonsai, ornamental fish farming and etc. These models help to create jobs for about 1.2 million rural workers in the fringes of the city.
