Germany supports Hoi An to construct electrical systems from solar power

In the evening of October 20, Hoi An People’s Committee (Quang Nam) cooperated with Wernigerode City (Federal Republic of Germany) to hold a launching ceremony of collaborative project for installation of solar energy technology in the area of Hoi An ancient town.

Accordingly, the estimated total investment for the project is 3.5 billion VND (approximately € 135,000, the German government financed 90%, Hoi An city and Wernigerode participate reciprocal finance 10%).
The project consists of solar panels installed at Song Hoai Square, is expected to generate corresponding power of 55 kw / h. Serving operation, decorative lighting for activities, such as street art performances, folk games, folk singing classes, choral and etc.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Vo Phung (director of the Hoi An Center of Culture - Sports and Tourism) said: "The center is the direct project beneficiary and will try to coordinate with the city to promote as soon as possible. In addition to promoting relations of cooperation and friendship between the two cities, the success of the project encourage the habit of using renewable energy sources.
This is the source of environmentally friendly energy and consistent with the policy of building Hoi An to become an ecological city.” |
