Vietnam focused on renewable energy sources
This information was shared by Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Quoc Khanh at the international conference on new energy technologies took place in Hanoi in the morning of November 14. This conference is held every 2 years, a forum gathers scientists around the world to exchange and share experiences on new energy technologies and apply this energy source.

Deputy Khanh said that in the context of the fossil fuel resources is becoming exhausted, environmental pollution due to the use of fossil energy is increasing, the cost of overcoming the consequences of natural disasters due to change climate is increasingly expensive, the study of new energy sources become increasingly necessary and urgent.

Scientists around the world are finding new sustainable energy sources and do not pollute the environment. Some countries have succeeded like America, Japan. In Vietnam, the past, the Government approved the development plan for electricity for the period 2011-2010 and a vision to 2020, with the aim of prioritizing the development of renewable energy sources for electricity production, increasing the proportion of electricity energy production from renewable energy sources (up 7% in 2017, up 10% in 2020).

He also affirmed that the country has great potential for renewable energy development, in the coming time, Vietnam will build a national program on renewable energy, research and develop projects for renewable energy technologies, build renewable energy technology sector.
