India built the water system driven by solar energy

To meet the water needs of people in the area affected by the activities of the Naxal rebels, the Government of India is planning to build 10,000 water system driven by solar energy in 78 districts

In a press conference,
Minister of Rural Development Jairam
Ramesh said: "We
have prepared a project on the construction of 10,000 water systems using solar
energy, can provide drinking
water for communities in rural areas ".
Mr. Ramesh said:
"This is an ambitious project of 10,000 drinking
water systems using solar energy is an ambitious
project, with total cost 540 crores. We have the
money. Money is
not the problem. "
Ramesh said the project marks the second meeting
of the target rural
development and promote using of renewable energy.
"First, we implement the program
and solve problems with renewable energy by
villages and settlements will not find power
in the near future for several reasons:
remote areas, the forests and mountains
... ".
Reply to reporters later, Mr Ramesh
said that 200 water
systems use ground water pumps from Germany and Pune's
and solar batteries have been installed in Gadchiroli
district of Maharashtra.
"We will do likewise
in all 78 Naxal
affected districts," says Ramesh.
