An Giang Agricultural sector associated with Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Provincial Farmer Association and People’s Committee in districts, communes opened 460 mushroom cultivation training class for over 9,976 households.

Besides, the Agricultural sector also opened 104 areas that performed mushroom cultivation techniques with the area of 13, 6 ha, average productivity reached about 12, 86 tons/ha.

The result is really encouraging; it expressed to increase cultivation area. For example, in 2007, there was only 2,433 ha planting mushroom in the province, but in 2013, it reached 3,651 ha, with 94 mushroom cultivation cooperatives.

Currently, An Giang has already finished “Regional plan of mushroom cultivation, medicinal mushroom using high-tech in An Giang up to 2020 and the vision of 2030.” Models, breeding projects are ready to put into implementation.
