There are many other households in the region, begin to follows his steps to raise frogs, such as Mr. Mai Anh Tuan, Nguyen Van Cuong, Duong Truong, Nguyen Van Dang and etc.

As Mr. Phuong said, his technology is to create a new breeding way between North American frogs and native frogs. Previously, farmers used to raise frogs in extensive farm, took long time and native frogs are shy, loss of appetite. Therefore, that led to low economy efficiency.

April 2003, he began to buy 2,000 breeding frogs from Ha Tinh province, selecting 100-150 couples for breeding. The frogs remained (after selecting process), raised and sold. The selling price at that time was about 36,000 – 37,000 VND/Kg. Now, he has 600 couples of breeding frogs which bred for 3 months. After 45 days, they were sold as breeding frogs.

Frogs are fed by floating pellets (cat fish food), yellow snail and junk fish, The hybrid frog varieties help reduce up to 50% cost, less loss rate. Now, the selling price in the market is about 60,000 VND/Kg, annually, raising frogs offers his family over 100 million VND.

Mr. Phuong sold breeding frogs to various province, such as Gia Lai, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Phu Yen, Lam Dong and so on with large amount. Restaurants, hotels usually look for frogs with average weight is about 200gr/frog.

Mr. Tran Thanh Quang, Chairman of Ninh Quang Farmer Association said, the first time, there was only Mr. Phuong raising frogs, and then there were more households. An average household can get 7 – 8 quintal of frogs with selling price 60,000 VND/Kg. Subtracting all expenses, interest remained around 40 million VND/ crop.

Farmer Association will support farmers in different ways, such as training, capital for loan from farmer support fund. In the upcoming time, the model will expand 8- 10 households more.
