Successful experimental production of two cold –resistant rubber seeds

The project for "Tested production of two cold-resistant rubber varieties VNg77 and VNg77-2-4 in the Northern mountainous province" by Dr. Nguyen Van Toan - Northern Mountainous Agriculture and Forestry Science Institute, has obtained outstanding results.

At the end of 2014, the project will be officially accepted. Dr. Nguyen Van Toan said, after two years of implementation the project has produced 60,000 seedlings VNG 77-2, 77-4 VNG.
In which 20,000 seedlings were supplied for production in 2013. Expectedly, providing 40,000 seedlings for production of the new crop from April to August 2014; building 2ha breeding garden VNG 77-2, 77-4 in Phu Tho (01 ha) and Lai Chau (01 ha).
Also in 2013, per hectare garden provided 100,000 grafts for breeding; building 8 hectare rubber seedling plantation models, such as 77-2 and VN77 VNG-4 in Phu Tho (4ha) and Dien Bien (4ha); deploying 10 specialized subjects to serve breeding processes and new plantation.
In the future, the project will continue to produce 40,000 seedlings remaining; care breeding garden model, the new plantation model has built and completed breeding technologies as well as new plantation of rubber trees in regional conditions in Northern mountainous region. |
