Indian red snapper (Sahyadria denisonii) belongs to the Cyprinidae family, originating from India, the size of the adult fish is 9cm or more, the main colors are black, red, white, highlighted with silver and a stripe black running along the body, a red stripe running from the mouth through the upper eyelid and then along the back half of the body. Fish food includes both animals and plants to maintain natural beauty as well as for fish to grow and develop well.
With the potential to become an object of high economic value, Indian red snapper is receiving research attention in countries around the world. According to survey results of a number of ornamental fish importers, Indonesia is currently the country that produces the most Indian red snapper varieties. In Vietnam, Indian red snapper has been traded in large quantities because it has economic value and meets the needs of farmers. This source of fish is mainly imported from Indonesia. The imported fish are usually 4 - 6cm in size. The imported fish are domesticated in artificial farming conditions and then sold on the domestic market. However, the biggest difficulty is that Indian red snapper has not been researched to reproduce under artificial conditions in our country, so it still depends on imported fish sources.
The results of the project can be transferred to ornamental fish production and business establishments in Ho Chi Minh City, contributing to providing Indian red snapper fingerlings for the domestic and export markets. Besides, the research results also contribute to proactively transferring seed production processes to people to increase production efficiency for farmers and diversify ornamental fish products in Ho Chi Minh City. |
