Binh Thuan planted coastal forests to fight climate change
Before abnormal changes of weather, Binh Thuan province deployed many measures to fight climate change, especially coastal forest cultivation project for the period 2015 to 2020.

Accordingly, at Phu Quy district, Forest Station has been performing an experiment project for planting coastal forests in 3 communes, such as Tam Thanh, Ngu Phung, Long Hai with 15,000 mangroves. These crops are initially effective in combating coastal erosion.

According to the researchers, a coastal strip of mangrove forest with 100m thick can neutralize wave energy, helps prevent the destruction of sea level rise, effectively protect citizens, the coastal tourist and aquaculture farming areas, and etc. Coastal forests also help absorb greenhouse gases, reduce the surface temperature of the earth.

Reportedly, Binh Thuan province has a coastline of 192km long, there are many flooding, erosion, and  sand deposition positions, such as Binh Thanh, Chi Cong, Phuoc  The (Tuy Phong); Phan Ri Thanh, Hoa Thang (Bac Binh); Mui Ne, Thien Nghiep, Phu Hai, Tien Thanh (Phan Thiet); Thuan Quy, Tan Thanh (Ham Thuan Nam); Tan Tien, Tan Binh (La Gi); Son My (Ham Tan) must plant coastal forests quickly.
