At the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Van Tue, director of the Department of Hydrometeorology & Climate Change said the serial results from previous years, mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions in particular, and response to climate change in general in Vietnam in 2015 continue to be promoted. Many important results were achieved on the following aspects: construction, perfecting the policies mitigate greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change; implement programs, important projects of mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions; inspect and supervise the work of responding to climate change in the provinces, cities, localities, and international cooperation, enhance to attract support capital resources to cope with climate change.

Mr. Tue said frankly, besides the positive side, still exist many drawbacks, difficulties and new challenges arising in the context of international policy on climate change change much rather, as well as climate change has become more complex. This poses new problems, require study and consider to have policies and mechanisms accordingly, adjust activities to respond to climate change in order to effectively implement the Law on Environmental Protection 2014, the task were assigned by the Government to meet the new requirements for the period from 2016 to 2020 and the coming years.

At the workshop, the participants also discussed the done work, the existing problem, limitation in the mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions in the ministries, branches; and proposed the main contents of the Government's Decree on the Roadmap and procedures to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions in Vietnam.

The problem were paid attention in discussing issues related to the construction of policies and procedures of the ministries, branches in order to effectively implement this Decree of the Government.
