Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Anh Duc has just approved the program "Research and development of artificial intelligence (AI) applications in the period of 2020 - 2030" with the expectation of making AI an important contributor to growth  of GRDP, the city becomes the center of Vietnam and the region for research, deployment and transfer of AI applications.

To achieve the above goal, Ho Chi Minh City offers 5 groups of solutions to implement with the development of AI policy mechanisms, in which regulations, standards, information security, data sharing, and protection are proposed data, social responsibility for AI solutions in life.

The city encourages domestic enterprises to test and deploy AI applications in production; sandbox with product testing and recognition mechanism.

Specialized agencies, the AI community regularly update technology and market changes in the world to promptly propose appropriate policies and regulations related to artificial intelligence in Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City.

Digital and computational infrastructure solutions will be invested with high quality broadband throughout the city, telecommunications businesses are supported to develop 5G mobile infrastructure, and new generation internet protocol addressing applications (IPv6) for all systems of the Department, Industry, development of IoT systems.

The deep learning supercomputer system and the information storage and transmission infrastructure are invested, acting as the center of the AI ecosystem, easily connected to the data center systems, the efficiency computing center capacity in the country, forming large data and computing capacity sharing networks.

Ho Chi Minh City aims to increase the number of scientific works and artificial intelligence patents by 20% each year, establish a research center for AI technology transfer and development, along with attracting FDI businesses invests, supports AI business incubation.
