Attending the event, there were embassies of several countries in Vietnam, representatives of leaders of units of central ministries, branches, provinces and cities; universities, research institutes, start-up businesses, start-up support organizations, experts, and investors. Deputy Minister of Science and Technology (M&T) Le Xuan Dinh attended and gave a directive speech at the Opening Ceremony.

Techfest Hai Phong is Hai Phong City's largest annual event in the field of science, technology and innovation organized by Hai Phong Department of Science and Technology since 2017.

Speaking at the opening of the event, Mr. Hoang Minh Cuong, Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee, said that Techfest Hai Phong 2023 is expected to promote innovative solutions in the fields of digital technology, agriculture, automation, tourism and cuisine, developing online platforms, e-commerce and new business models to support and access markets, creating breakthroughs in the commercialization of local products.

Mr. Hoang Minh Cuong said: From 2017 up to now, Techfest Hai Phong has had more than 700 innovative products and creative startup products on display, welcoming 5,000 domestic and foreign delegates to participate, organized 200 investment and business connections and 6 startup competitions. Thanks to that, dozens of innovative startups have developed, grown and achieved much success, and dozens of businesses have become science and technology enterprises.

Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Xuan Dinh highly appreciated Hai Phong for developing Techfest into a series of continuous activities, with thoughtful preparation and the participation of all the City's leading businesses and partners.

The Deputy Minister expressed his hope that Hai Phong will not only deploy well and strongly develop the city's innovation and start-up activities, but must become a pillar in building the innovation ecosystem of the Coastal Region. Northern region, Red River Delta region, connecting with national and international innovation ecosystems.

The Deputy Minister shared that the innovation ecosystem in Hai Phong has had a favorable start and in the right direction, gradually creating dynamic and thriving innovative start-up businesses, therefore continuing to source and nurture ideas and innovative initiatives is essential. In addition, exploiting and developing local competitive advantages, focusing especially on industries and fields that are strongly developing in Hai Phong and surrounding areas, such as logistics, tourism, cuisine, and sea ports, and etc.  This activity requires enthusiastic participation and commitment from businesses, corporations, and management agencies.

In addition, develop new pilot and innovation testing spaces to encourage innovative start-up activities; Encouraging the interaction of management agencies and the innovative startup community to provide appropriate support for the ecosystem is an activity that needs to be replicated. The Deputy Minister emphasized.
