Transferring technology using nano filtration membranes to treat industrial wastewater
|
|
On August 27, in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, with the support of the National Center for Innovative Startup Support, the Department of Science and Technology Enterprise and Market Development (Ministry of Science and Technology), nano water treatment technology was successfully transferred from the US company ZwitterCo to the Import-Export Technology Agricultural Products Limited Company.

The two sides signed a cooperation agreement to promote transfer and market promotion to bring ZwitterCo nano water treatment technology to a large scale and towards creating shared infrastructure in industrial parks.
ZwitterCo's water treatment technology using nanofiltration membrane to turn industrial wastewater into pure water. Nano membrane is an invention of this start-up in the US, in which the technology was developed from award-winning research in a competition at Tufts University (USA).
Using this technology at factories will ensure the use of circulating, waste-free water. In particular, this technology can be miniaturized to put into civil use, serving sea and islands, turning salt water into fresh water.
Wastewater source when running through this technology, each type of waste (animal fat, heavy metals, toxic substances) will be separated separately, through the condensation process will create solids, the output of the technology is a source of pure water that can be drunk directly. Conventional nanomembranes have a lifespan of about 6 months to 1 year, but this new generation nanofiltration membrane has a lifespan of up to 10 years.
After the transfer, this technology will be installed and tested at Pomina Ton Joint Stock Company in Ba Ria-Vung Tau. |
