Mr. Dinh Huu Phi - Director of the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam; Mr. Mai Son - Standing Vice Chairman of Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh - Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Bac Giang province co-chaired the workshop. Attending the workshop, there were also representatives of departments and agencies of Bac Giang province, functional units under the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam and a number of central and provincial news agencies.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Director Dinh Huu Phi said that this year the message of IP Day is "Small and medium enterprises with IP - Bring your ideas to the market." WIPO's choice of this message is to promote, honor and encourage small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) of creative labor to turn ideas into intellectual properties, bringing intellectual assets to market, creating profits and economic and social values. In Vietnam, SMEs account for 97% of the total number of enterprises, contributing 45% of GDP, 31% of total state budget revenue and creating more than 5 million jobs, becoming a core force supporting a stable and successful economy growth in the context of the Covid pandemic 19. Therefore, this year's message is particularly meaningful in the context of the Covid 19 pandemic and the world's economies are heavily affected by this pandemic.

Also in a series of activities to respond to World Intellectual Property Day, in the morning of April 1, the NOIP organized an IP Survey Team for press agencies in enterprises, lychee production cooperatives, and noodles in Luc Ngan district, Bac Giang.
